I moved Puppy Buckets over to Wordpress. Next week I'll buy a domain and all that cool stuff :)

Further apologies for the lack of updates, I've been pretty busy lately. I should probably do a post for each of the following awesome games: Gravity Bone, Spelunky, The Manipulator, Closure, and the list goes on and on I'm sure... But I can't tear my eyes away from this silly Letum game to do all that. Sure this same game has been done a thousand times before, but it's so damn addicting that I can't stop playing!

The Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa has set up a great little web site for their new exhibition on the Collosal Squid, complete with a "Build a Squid" section.
Visitors can design and name their very own squid by selecting various shapes, sizes and colors of parts. These squids are then "released" into a collective ocean, and you can come back later to see what your squid has been up to.

I love the art style in The Majesty of Colors, and getting to be a cool tentacled sea monster and choose between helping and harming humanity is a pretty great concept. If you're into a slower paced game with a compelling message (and who isn't into that?!), this short little gem is just what you need after a long day of work/school/sitting around at home looking at funny pictures.

Kill mindless zombies, then use their bodies to create a ladder to the sky! Body Ladder would be perfect if it were more fleshed out (haha puns); once the grenades are used up and the last weapon upgrade (pictured above) is attained, the game's entertainment value is pretty much cashed. Still, for the fifteen or so minutes that it lasts, smacking zombies with axes and baseball bats is hugely entertaining.

Here are the sites I go to when I want to listen to full songs before actually having to pay for them:
Free.Napster
imeem
The Hype Machine
YouTube (Surprisingly useful for audio)
This sure beats the hell out of waiting forever to listen to one song by getting it off a torrent site or using crappy p2p programs like LimeWire or FrostWire, enjoy.
Oh, I may as well give a plug for I Feel Like Dying by Lil Wayne right now. What an awesome song.

One rousing success of the freeware gaming community is the excellent selection of quality dinosaur games. The latest to join the ranks of such greats as Dino Run and Off-Road Velociraptor Safari is From Primordial Egg. Stomp around as a dinosaur and kill archaeologists, eating them to evolve and gain health. The pixel art is nice to look at, especially the dinosaur graphics; seeing the next stage in its evolution kept me interested all the way through the game. All in all, From Primordial Egg is a fantastic way to spend thirty minutes.
